Staying in a Villa for the first time?

Decided to book a villa as accommodation for this years summer holiday? If you have never stayed in a villa before or even been on holiday self catering before it is likely you may be stressing out about how the holiday is going to turn out. But, chill. Villas and self catering holidays are great and I can assure you once you get back from this one you will never want to go all inclusive again.

Some tips for staying in a villa would be not to pack so many clothes, you’re in a villa, it is likely there will be facilities for you to clean clothes, yes this may not be something you want to do on holiday however, I’m sure you’d much rather bring back lots of souvenirs right!?

Buy several disposable BBQ’s, they’re always great for bring the family together, easy to set up and can save you from doing a lot of work in the kitchen preparing a meal. Plus who doesn’t love a good BBQ?! Sitting outside your villa, beside the pool enjoying a lovely burger that has just been cooked on the BBQ whilst sipping cocktails.

Make sure you know what facilities will be available in your villa before you go so you know what to bring along. If you’re going with children and there is no television in the villa then think about what gadgets and toys you could bring along to make sure the kids are constantly occupied and not always bugging you.

Last tip, enjoy yourself! Self catering is great, it allows you to visit different restaurants in the evening to try out some of the local cuisine. You’re not waiting around for dinner time like you would be at all inclusive, you can do what you want and at any time you wish.

As everyone knows the most known type of attraction in Orlando are theme parks. There are several in Orlando, Universal Orlando being a set of some including Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, with other attractions within this clan of theme parks. But there are other things to do in Orlando other than theme parks.

Choosing a Villa

When choosing a villa you’ll need to make sure you’re renting out one that meets all you needs, going for a quiet get away? Then a villa in the countryside would be best. Looking for some chill out time to relax by the pool sipping cocktails all day? Then a villa with a pool will quite obviously do the trick!

Firstly, set a budget. Depending on how out there you want to go with your villa and what you want it to have will depend on the price of a villa. Quite obviously a villa with a private pool or beach is going to be far more expensive than a villa with no pool or private beach. So you will need to set a reasonable price for what you’re expecting to get out of the holiday and don’t forget to include flights and spending money as well as the amount you are willing to spend on renting out a villa.

Where do you want to go? There is likely to be a villa to rent out anyway and everywhere so having to decide where you want to go may be a little difficult as you have such a huge range to choose from! Looking for somewhere near the beach? Then how about the Caribbean? Or Barbados?

You then need to decide what you want to get out of the holiday as mentioned in the introduction. Do you want a relaxing holiday with time to spend with your family, because then a villa with a private pool would be perfect. Do you want a villa near the amenities of the destination you’re at.

Choose the right sized property, how many people are going? Are there enough bathrooms and bedrooms to accommodate everyone there. Would it be practical for someone to sleep in the lounge if needs be?

Villas are usually all self catering, and luckily some come with a huge kitchen with the right kitchen utensils and gadgets you’ll need to make some great meals! But you’ll need to make sure you have all the right equipment to do so and ask the owner what there is available.

Check out what facilities the property has, especially if you’re taking children, who may likely get bored whilst on holiday and so check to see if perhaps there is a television? With a DVD player? Then why not pack some of their favourite films. This could also mean you could spend some evenings having family time eating dinner in front of the television watching your favourite family films.

Dates; in the school holidays most villas will get booked up quick so you’ll have to be quick with booking if you decide to go in the holidays, but if you’re flexible most villas are available all year round.

So there you have it a check list on how to book the right villa.

The Top Things to do in Koh Samui

Koh Samui is a very beautiful island in Thailand. With stunning beaches and a varied amount of things to do it is the perfect destination for that much needed holiday. There is an attraction suited to everyone.

Big Buddha – this is probably one of Koh Samui’s most well known landmarks, it is a 12 metre high golden Buddha and can be seen from several kilometres away. With surrounding market stalls selling a wide range of lucky charms and many other souvenirs, with lots of food stalls as well.

Angthong National Marine Park – this is a protected area of 100sqkm of land and sea and home to a huge variety of exotic wildlife and sea creatures. There is so much to explore with the towering limestone mountains, thick jungle, white sand beaches, waterfalls and hidden covers.

Samui Aquarium with Tiger Show – if you enjoy checking out the animals at the zoo then this is the place to go, with animals ranging from coral fish, huge catfish and sharks, and that is just in the aquarium! Adjacent to that there is a zoo home to tigers, parrots, sea hawks, eagles and even otters that perform!

Ladyboy Cabaret Shows – this is not everyone’s cup of tea, but then again some of the other attractions above may not be either, so as I mentioned above, there is something for everyone! So if you’re looking for something a little different this is definitely something to check out.

Reasons to Book a Villa

There are so many advantages to booking a villa rental instead of booking a hotel. Firstly, if you have a big family or there is a big group of you all going on holiday then it will work out a lot cheaper! Imagine, if there are 10 of you and you can only have 3 or 4 people in each hotel room you will end up having to book another 2 rooms on top of that, which will all together work out a lot more expensive!

Service; there will be no waiting around until the hotel says its times for dinner, you’ll be able to make food whenever you wish, you won’t have maids coming in to do room service and cleaning and so you’ll be able to do what you want. And talking of food, if you rent a villa with a pool you’ll be able to have poolside BBQ’s with as much food as you wish, and will cost you a lot less than paying for one at a 5 star hotel.

Privacy, want to wander round your villa wearing just your bikini or stay in  your pj’s or dressing gown all day long? Then you can, you can do exactly what you want, have your music as loud as you wish, watch DVD’s literally anything as you won’t have anyone coming into your room to clean.

Location, most villas are in the most luxurious destinations in the most beautiful locations, such as beachfront, ocean views or even on private islands. Most villas are also very tasteful and comfortable making the whole holiday experience amazing.

Security, you won’t have to worry about paying extra money for a safety deposit box or even any of the other extras that hotels make you pay including air conditioning and extra fans. Finally, if you go out of season you will find some amazing deals, especially if you have flexibility when it comes to the dates of going.

So if this isn’t enough to persuade you as to why you should rent a villa on holiday then I don’t know what is!

Romantic Short Breaks

Taking your loved way on a nice romantic short break just to get away from everything and spend some alone time together is always a good idea to do every once in a while. There are a range of destinations and types of accommodation perfect for this. Like renting a villa. Perfect. This will allow you two to spend time together just you two, nobody else around to be able to bother you, and it also means you can cook each other romantic meals in the evening or perhaps go out for romantic meals in the evening as you’ll be able to do exactly what you like.

Destinations perfect to rent a villa for a short romantic getaway would be France. France is always a tick in the box for short getaways and definitely a good one for a romantic holiday. With all the beautiful sights to see including the Eiffel Tower and all the beautiful restaurants and cuisine available it is the perfect place.
